What do the best promotional videos, whether it be a Super Bowl commercial or a public service announcement, have in common? They tell a story! People don't want to be "sold" but they definitely enjoy being entertained. Visual storytelling is key if you are to get the attention of your audience. Students began this project by working in groups to research various aspects of storytelling: characters you meet in a story, elements of a story, and the three act structure. Groups presented their research of the class. Then students worked in small groups to write their own stories. Then they drew storyboards for their stories and shot video of those stories.
